BATON ROUGE, LA – The Carpenter Health Network (“TCHN”) determined on March 5, 2025 that, between February 4 and 28, 2025, an unauthorized third party acquired some patient information from its IT systems. The affected patient information involved included names, contact information (such as phone numbers and postal addresses), dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical information (such as condition, diagnosis, treatment, physician and medical record number) and health insurance information. The types of affected information varied by affected individual.
Upon learning of the incident, TCHN promptly launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts and coordinated with law enforcement. The company has since taken steps to enhance the security of its systems.
TCHN is notifying relevant patients and has arranged to provide them with complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services. Patients who receive a letter from TCHN about this issue should refer to the letter for additional information and instructions.
