SAGE-Lafayette Grand Opening Marks
The Brand’s Expansion into the Acadiana Region

LAFAYETTE, LA — SAGE, a restorative healthcare company expanding its footprint into the Lafayette area, hosted a grand opening celebration, open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 27. Healthcare executives and medical providers from across the community attended, toured the renovated facility, and participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Carpenter Health Network, SAGE’s parent company, had purchased the former location of Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Lafayette on Energy Parkway at the end of 2020.

“We saw this as an opportunity to expand our SAGE service line to the Lafayette area,” stated Karen Crayton, Vice-President of Rehabilitative Operations and Restorative Services for The Carpenter Health Network. “In keeping with our mission, our goal is to joyfully provide optimal patient care seamlessly across service lines to ensure spiritual, emotional, and physical healing wherever possible. Expanding SAGE to Lafayette is a big step in that direction.”

SAGE Rehab Hospital–Lafayette is a 48-bed hospital, and is licensed for inpatient rehabilitation and long-term acute care. Other inpatient services, including skilled nursing and wound care, and outpatient services, such as a day neuro program and outpatient rehab, will eventually round out the services at this location.

The 53,184-square-foot facility sits on 7.74 acres of land in the heart of Lafayette. Easily accessible via major thoroughfares, SAGE–Lafayette is poised to serve as a healthcare resource for the region.

The Carpenter Health Network, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the parent company of SAGE, and owns and operates St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House, STAT Home Health, AIM Palliative Home Health, Homedica, SAGE Specialty Hospitals, SAGE Rehab Hospital–Baton Rouge, SAGE Rehabilitation & Outpatient Services–Baton Rouge, SAGE Wound Care, Companion Home Services, and three nursing homes. The company employs over 2,000 healthcare professionals in 6 states in the Gulf South.
